Is luxury vinyl durable?
Yes, luxury vinyl (LVF) is entirely waterproof and five times thicker than the original product. It is layered, and, at the top, a transparent, robust melamine sheet protects the floor from scratches and scuffs. It can be cut into groutable squares, called luxury vinyl tile (LVT), or boards called luxury vinyl plank (LVP). When you get the Stone Core LVP version, it has even higher waterproof capabilities and durability.
What is stone core LVP?
Stone Core LVP is sometimes called Rigid Core Plank or SPC (stone plastic composite) flooring. Like WPC (wood plastic composite), the SPC core is technologically advanced and offers the highest level of waterproof protection, never peeling or rippling no matter how much water there is or for how long. This is one of the most durable products on the market, withstand even the wear of commercial environments.
While WPC is sturdy, it's also warmer and has the resilient feeling underfoot for which vinyl is so well known, but SPC is so rigid and firm you'll think you are walking on stone flooring (or tile, hardwood, or concrete).
The style of luxury vinyl
Like any LVF, it has a high-end design with nature-inspired wood, stone, and tile images. All are taken with high-definition photography, so they're clear, accurate and show knots, swirls, grains, veining variations, brilliant colors, and exciting patterns. There is also micro beveling and deep embossing to add depth, dimension, and textured looks, such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered and distressed, and an assortment of matte, gloss, and high gloss finishes.
